Following a long line of distinguished women committed to “doing the most good” and providing for those in need, I am honored to serve as this year’s Women’s Auxiliary President.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.”
This inspiring verse from 1 Peter 4:10 will serve as the words to guide us through our work this year. God has given each of us a unique gift that we can bring to our service to The Salvation Army. I encourage each of us to reflect deeply on our given gift and how it can be best used to strengthen and lift the Women’s Auxiliary. Whether it’s stuffing backpacks, filling Santa Sacks, ringing red kettle bells or working the Angel Tree through the holidays, serving in some capacity with the many activities associated with our largest fundraiser, the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon, volunteering at the Domestic Violence Shelter or Adult Rehabilitation Center, or simply hosting an Auxiliary coffee – there are many ways to serve and a place for everyone.
While “doing the most good” we build lifelong friendships. I have met and worked with so many amazing women over the years. One of our goals for the year is to continue to expand our membership and share with others the amazing work of the Women’s Auxiliary. Spread the word ... bring your friend, neighbor, or daughter to our next gathering or event so that we might continue to build on our long legacy of service.
The programs, services and support that the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary helps provide are needed now more than ever. I consider it a privilege to serve alongside those who share so selflessly of their time and talents. I am confident that, together, we can and will make a difference in the lives of those in our community.
