The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is a legacy of women committed to “doing the most good” and I am honored to serve of this year’s President.  Our theme is the Fruits of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23. God graciously gifts each of us with unique qualities that we bring to our service. Additionally, we are focusing on bringing into our membership women who are motivated by the love of God to serve our community and build friendships within the Auxiliary. I hope you will prayerfully consider how God will use your gifts to continue to strengthen the organization.
There are many ways to serve within the Women’s Auxiliary. We will begin the year stuffing backpacks in August; filling Santa Sacks, ringing bells at kettles, and working at the Angel Tree at NorthPark through the holidays; while throughout the year, we will prepare and serve meals at the Domestic Violence Shelter, serve cake and honor milestones at the Adult Rehabilitation Center, and serve on the Fashion Show & Luncheon Committee; wrapping up with the Fashion Show After Sale just before we adjourn for the summer. There is a place for everyone to plug in and find how God will grow you through serving others with your gifts and talents.
Our membership also creates the special place where we are able to build friendships and have fellowship with each other. I am so blessed by the women I have met through the Women’s Auxiliary. I encourage each of you to invite your best friend, neighbor, daughter or daughter-in-law to join us as part of this wonderful organization. Bring her to a coffee, a meeting, to serve with you in your favorite activity or to the luncheon in the spring.
This is a momentous time for The Salvation Army in the DFW Metroplex and I am excited for all that God has planned for us this year.
